The extraordinary life of Sukhdeo Ji Agrawal began in 1935 when he was assigned to the Gondia Municipal Council. Two years later, he assumed the role of vice president of the Bhandara District Council. However, in 1940, Sukhdeo Ji left all his posts to enter a personal satyagraha, an expression of his unwavering commitment to social change. 

 

Throughout his life, Sukhdeo Ji Agrawal was a passionate advocate for woman empowerment and widow remarriage among Marwaris - initiatives that were recognized and praised throughout India. The Central Government even nominated him to be a member of The Lac Ses Committee Ranchi and The Promotion Council Kolkata. 

 

For twenty years, he served as Chairman of MP-Maharashtra lac and chapda business. During this period, Sukhdeo Ji worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi while his wife late Mrs. Narayani Devi Agrawal dedicated herself to the lac business.

 

He was blessed with six sons and three daughters, each of whom has contributed to the family business in their unique ways. For four generations, this family-run business has been growing and expanding worldwide, since its inception in 1901 with a humble rice business. In 1989, we ventured into the shellac industry, and since then we have forged relationships with countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and China, for exporting rice and shellac. Now our reach extends beyond 50 countries around the globe, as we have broadened our inventory to include incense sticks, alluratic acid, seedlac, and many other products.

 

It is truly remarkable how far we have come over the past one hundred and twenty-one years.
